The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Stoke Fleming are only a few weeks away. Lots of fantastic events lined up from the 2nd to the 5th June. Thursday 2 June

Presentation of Platinum Jubilee memorabilia to the primary school children of the Parish by The Parish Council

Community ‘Party in the Park’ Let your hair down in the Stoke Fleming Recreation Ground!
* Full bar from 6pm, hog roast from 7pm and food truck (for alternative/veggie options)
* Live streaming of the Platinum Party at Buckingham Palace from mid evening

Sunday 5 June

14.00 to 18.00
Community ‘1950’s Picnic in the Park’.
Dress to impress your friends and neighbours in the Stoke Fleming Recreation Ground!
* BYO picnic, with bar, food truck and ice cream van available
* Live streaming of Buckingham Palace Jubilee events in London
* Live music and dancing
* Prizes for the best 50’s outfits (costume not obligatory but fun!)
* Vintage/classic car display
* Children’s (and maybe adult!) games

 

 

Please note:
1. Youth Club: 1 adult to every 4 children
2. Beacon lighting: food truck available in the School Road car parking bays
3. Hog Roast: overfilled roast pork bap with all the
trimmings plus 2 salads. Tickets £10 from SF Village Shop from May 1
(cash only).
4. Recreation Ground events:
a. No charge for these events except for food and drink (do
support the vendors)
b. No parking available, disabled parking only in the Village Hall car park.
c. Toilet facilities available
d. BYO tables, seating, gazebo and dress for the weather!
e. If the dog must come, keep on a short lead.
f. Please take your rubbish home
Keep an eye on the Community Facebook pages and parish poster sites for
details of the following:
* As in prior jubilees, we encourage those in the centre of the village to decorate
their houses.
* Other events may be added closer to the dates
* Timing of some events may be subject of change.
* Thanks to the Green Dragon, Michael Suttons Cellar and Radius 7 for
providing the bar and food truck, and for the Green Dragon for hosting the
vintage tea party. Hog Roast and other activities organised by the Parish
Council, supported with thanks by parish organisations (Hort and Sport, Friends
of St Peters, Community Kitchen, Village Hall Management Committee, Youth
Club, St Peters Church, SF Primary School, Village Shop, Parish Magazine.)
* The Parish Council hopes that local residents will be understanding regarding
noise from Jubilee events and that everyone will come and join in the fun.
