TENDERS ARE INVITED FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNCIL CONTRACTS FROM SELF-EMPLOYED CONTRACTORS (INSURANCE REQUIRED)
Tenders must be submitted by email by 28th October 2022
Playing Field grass cutting.
Cutting the playing field grass twice each month April – September to a maximum of 12 cuts and once a month October to March as required. Additional cuts which may be required for an event on the field are at the discretion of the Chairman of the Parish Council.
The area to be cut is the whole of the playing field enclosed by the children’s play area fence and fence/walls in the north, the playing field side of the hedge in the west and south and the Village Hall in the east.
Hedge cutting
a) The hedge on the north side of Ravensbourne Lane, bordering the playing field.
b) The hedge on the east of Venn Lane, bordering the playing field.
c) The complete internal perimeter hedge of the playing field (excluding beech hedges of the Village Hall).
d) Both sides of Redlap Lane from Windward to the National Trust car park.
The hedges are to be cut once a year with any additional cutting at the Chairman of the Parish Council’s discretion. Invoices are to be submitted before November each year.
Village grass cutting
Grass cutting and weed spraying around the village:
a) Peg’s Copse (the area of grass situated at the east side of the junction of Dartmouth Road and Weeke Hill) – from the road junction on the south to the footpath at the north end, including trimming the hedge on the east side.
b) The footpath which runs to Deer Park Road from Dartmouth Road adjacent to and on the south side of Premier Garage, known as
Route 15. This is to include weed spraying on both sides of the path.
c) The area around the seat halfway along the Birdwalk.
d) The playing field complete internal perimeter including around all trees, the Jubilee shelter, the children’s play area fence and the hedged bank between the Royal British Legion gate and the beech hedge of the Village Hall.
e) On the Dartmouth Road, the hedge bank between the bus shelter and Coastal Path sign.
The grass is to be cut once a month between April and September (6 cuts) and at the Chairman of the Parish Council’s request between October and March each year.
Bench, seat, table, notice boards and toilet block maintenance (painting/Sadolin/Danish Oil)
a) The 22 seats and 2 benches within the village, with 50% being maintained annually.
b) 3 benches in Old Hall Gardens (‘donated’ by Village Hall Committee 2014)
c) The picnic table(s) in the children’s play area to be maintained biennially.
d) The three village notice boards (one opposite Stoke Fleming Post Office & Shop, one at Bugford cross and one at Cotton Farm estate) to be maintained biennially.
e) The windows and internal and external doors of the Public Toilet sections of the Toilet Block.
f) The wooden gates into the playing field to be maintained biennially.
Maintenance is to consist of each item being cleaned, lightly sanded and given one coat of appropriately matching ‘Sadolin’ or Danish Oil, with the fee based on price per item. The Contractor will supply his own materials and warning signs for each item being worked on, to be collected when work is finished and fully dry.
